Since 2016, Aetna has partnered with MyDoc in Singapore to offer virtual GP consultations to selected members. We have now extended this partnership to Hong Kong, piloting the MyDoc service with a few clients initially and with plans for a broader roll-out over the next few months.
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, demand for virtual health care has increased as people look for health treatment options that minimise their exposure to others. The MyDoc service will allow Aetna members in Hong Kong to consult with a doctor over their mobile phone during working hours, and have any medication they need delivered straight to their home.
“While Hong Kong has been slow to embrace virtual health services previously, the COVID-19 situation has accelerated adoption and we’ve had feedback that people are now really embracing this convenient way of seeing a doctor for minor ailments,” says Kevin Jones, CEO of Aetna Hong Kong. “In the coming months, we look forward to being able to offer this valuable service to more Aetna members in Hong Kong, as part of their health benefits plan.”
