Cuando un misionero necesita salir de la Misión temprano para volver a casa con el fin de recibir tratamiento médico asociado a una lesión o enfermedad que se produjo durante el servicio misional fuera de los Estados Unidos, el Presidente de la Misión entra en contacto con el Representante de Campo (IFR) en el Departamento Misional de la Iglesia. El IFR autoriza la continuación del seguro por 90 días y manda un formulario de cambio a Missionary Medical.

El IFR entrará en contacto con el equipo de enfermería del DMBA por teléfono (801-578-5775 o 801-578-5767) o por correo electrónico (MissionaryMa@dmba.com) para solicitar formalmente la asistencia médica. El equipo de enfermería recuperará toda la información necesaria del sistema de la Iglesia. La extensión de la cobertura médica y la asistencia médica cubren la lesión o enfermedad específica que se inició durante el servicio del misionero.

El misionero, Presidente de la Estaca y Obispo recibirán un correo electrónico notificándoles que la asistencia médica ha sido aprobada. Un representante de Aetna notificará al misionero, Presidente de la Estaca y Obispo con instrucciones de cómo recibir atención médica que será pagada por Aetna.

El Presidente de la Misión debe usar la lista de verificación para informar al misionero sobre el proceso de la asistencia médica.
