Enhanced health plan benefits with a focus on women’s health

Aetna International, part of Aetna®, a CVS Health® Company, is proud to announce the launch of enhanced health plan benefits tailored specifically to address the unique needs of women. These enhancements further emphasize the company’s ongoing commitment to provide holistic and inclusive care for all members by addressing gaps in women's health coverage. The enhanced benefits include:

The addition of Maven for fertility and maternity support

As part of the Aetna International global maternity program, beginning January 1, 2025, upon plan effective date, members will have 24/7 access to Maven’s digital health platform and top-rated providers via unlimited video appointments, messaging and classes. Maven Clinic is the world's leading virtual clinic for women's and family health, supporting aspiring, new, and expecting parents across 175 countries. With Maven, virtual care for pregnancy through postpartum and return to work is available with doctors, nurses, mental health providers, coaches, and other specialists across 35 languages.

In addition to the Maven Maternity Foundation program, Aetna International customers can opt to include fertility support through Maven for their employees. These services help employees navigate their fertility and family building journey, provide referrals to high-quality clinics or agencies, and advise on specific local guidelines, since they often vary from country to country.

“Aetna International is helping our members and their partners more easily navigate to personalized, high-quality fertility and pregnancy care whenever they need it and in their own language. This is an essential addition as we continue to add more globally available resources to Aetna International health plans.” said Todd Lazar, President, Aetna International.

Expanded and simplified access to fertility services

Beginning this September upon plan renewal, eligible Aetna International plans will include intrauterine insemination (IUI) as a medical benefit. This landmark policy by Aetna increases access to family-building possibilities, regardless of sexual orientation or partner status. Read more.

Comprehensive benefits in support of women’s health

In addition to adding Maven access and IUI as a medical benefit, Aetna International plans continue to include coverage for routine screenings such as mammograms, Pap smears, and bone density tests aimed at promoting early detection and prevention of serious conditions that predominately affect women including breast cancer, cervical cancer, and osteoporosis. Members based in the U.S. facing a cancer diagnosis are also offered support through the Transform Oncology program
