2019: wrapping up the end of the year in Europe

The last few months of 2019 have whizzed past in a blur of activity for our European marketing team. Here’s a quick recap of some of the highlights:

Oil and Energy Event

In October, key members from our European marketing and distribution teams exhibited at the annual Offshore Energy Exhibition and Conference (OEEC) in Amsterdam, the industry’s leading single gathering of global oil and energy professionals. With more than 12,000 attendees, the event presented the ideal opportunity for the organisation to present its expertise and credibility in this sector. Branded Cabs

Back in the UK, you may have seen black cabs wrapped with Aetna branding driving around central London. This advertising initiative was part of our larger proposition awareness campaign, and we ran a Twitter competition to encourage people to share photos of the cabs wherever they were spotted. Well done to our winners who were the very happy recipients of hampers packed with delicious, healthy snacks and goodies.

Health Matters Forum

The autumn occasion of our Health Matters Forum broker event was held at the Bvlgari Hotel in October. This fantastic, information-packed morning allowed us to update our broker partners with the latest happenings at Aetna International, including the introduction of our new vHealth at Home service. The service, which provides access to primary care at a location of choice within zones 1 – 4 for our London based members, was received with enthusiasm. We also played host to the incredible Rob Stephenson, mental health influencer and founder of InsideOut, whose talk about his own highs and lows of mental health was both thought-provoking and empowering. Cycling for Mental Health

At the Health Matters Forum, we also announced our support for Rob’s MindCycle event, which was set to be held in November to raise money for Movember and support men’s mental health.

On the day of the event, three Aetna teams took on a fun and competitive cycling challenge that tested both their fitness and resolve. We are extremely proud of the effort they put in on the day, and the funds they raised. If you’d like to see more, you can watch a short video here and view a gallery of photos here. Award wins

We were thrilled to have a very successful awards season. After Workplace Savings and Benefits named us their ‘International Benefits Provider of the Year’ for the second year running, we also won Best International Private Health Insurer’ at the International Adviser event and ‘Best International Private Health Insurance Provider’ at the International Investment awards. We were also shortlisted for ITIJ and Cover Excellence awards.

To round this success off, we were especially delighted to win HI&P’s ‘Best Group International Private Medical Insurance Provider’ for the seventh consecutive year as well taking home the award for ‘Best Digital Proposition’ on the back of our vHealth proposition. We are extremely proud to have received these accolades as the votes are all cast by brokers.  Thank you so much for all the support – we are very grateful and wish you all a very happy holiday.
