The future of workplace well-being: Aetna sponsors HR Summit & Expo in Dubai

Aetna International was a proud headline sponsor at this year’s HR Summit & Expo in Dubai — the emirate’s biggest human resources (HR) exhibition. As one of the world’s leading health and wellness benefits providers, we are keen to share our mission to reimagine health care and wellness and underline our commitment to the region. Attending the event presented a good opportunity to hold meaningful discussions with employers and HR leaders who are committed to employee well-being.

Aetna International’s Senior Vice President of Population Health Solutions, Dr. Sneh Khemka, gave a keynote speech about the ecosystem of the employee. The message was clear: Today’s employees work differently, access information differently and demand different things prioritising workplace well-being. It’s vital for employers and payers to recognise that well-being is now not only a corporate wellness strategy, it’s a duty of care responsibility. Dr. Khemka expanded on the vision for the virtual health service — vHealth — to play an integral role for local employers in its launch next year. The vHealth team hosted visitors at their booth and gave them a chance to test out the vHealth experience through 360 alternative reality goggles.

David Healy, CEO, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Aetna International gave the keynote speech at the event’s Gala Awards Dinner, in which he addressed the correlation between employee well-being and productivity, a concept that is gaining traction in the region. Director of Product and Marketing, Catherine Darroue presented the award for Best Women Development & Leadership Programme, and Director of Human Resources, Maya Jabbour presented the award for Best Employee Engagement Strategy.

Catherine Darroue said, "The event provided an excellent opportunity for us to engage with HR professionals on the challenges and opportunities employers are currently facing in the UAE market. We believe that our expertise and effective health and wellness solutions perfectly serve the vision of many HR professionals who are focussed on creating healthier, more engaged and viable employee populations."

We hope to see you at future events, as we continue to look for more opportunities to engage with the regional community of intermediaries, HR professionals and health care providers.
