Wellbeing @ Work Summits Amsterdam and London 2020

Globally, businesses are evolving their approach to employee health and well-being to keep pace with changing needs. It’s a crucial time to discuss the best and most effective approaches to the challenges being faced.

The appetite to address these issues has been apparent at a series of Wellbeing @ Work Summits 2020. Following on from the success of the Dubai event in March, senior leaders from Aetna International virtually attended the Amsterdam and London summits to take part in various discussions and interactive workshops.

In front of an audience of HR decision makers, these discussions centered around two main topics — how global organisations can stay socially connected during COVID-19 and the digital health dilemma of whether technology is keeping us healthy or making us ill.

Our panel delved into these complexities, incorporating insights from recent research as well as sharing their own experiences on the challenges of leading teams remotely. Using quiz questions to drive engagement and quick polls to canvas opinions from attendees, they offered practical ideas about the pressing need for workplace solutions that can answer evolving challenges and how to drive healthier work practices.

Senior leaders who took part included David Healy (CEO – EMEA), Caroline Pain (Senior VP – Customer Proposition), Sam Mckendrick (VP – HR), Damian Lenihan (Executive Director – Europe), Dr Hemal Desai (Global Medical Director) and Melanie Powell (Director, Operational Finance). Sessions were facilitated by mental health campaigner Rob Stephenson and, at the final London event, the team was joined by double Olympian Jack Green who offered a fresh perspective on the gold standard of employee well-being.
