Sharing the benefits of meditation for stress relief in Hanoi

Aetna Vietnam recently hosted two separate meditation sessions for more than 80 clients and broker partners at the 6 Degrees Restaurant in Hanoi.

A meditation coach educated participants on the importance of mental health and well-being, as well as imparting knowledge on attaining inner peace and using meditation to relieve the symptoms of stress.

The sessions started with a brief guide to different meditation techniques and a step-by-step guide on how regular meditation practise can help people live healthy, balanced lives. Participants were also guided through three types of meditation techniques: open-awareness; no-thought; and focused-attention. For each method, attendees learned to pay attention to their surroundings, inner thoughts, memories, breath and senses or were shown how to avoid concentrating on anything at all, as far as is possible.

In addition, to relate what they were learning to achieving greater wellness in the office, the meditation coach also highlighted simple exercises that workers can easily do at their desks. The exercises are designed to combat back, neck and shoulder pains resulting from prolonged periods of sitting.

“The event was more than an opportunity for us to strengthen our broker partnerships. It also allowed us to showcase Aetna’s efforts to promote mental wellness beyond the workplace,” said Minh Nguyen, Country Manager for Aetna Vietnam. “Our guests left the event saying that they felt better equipped to train their brains to create more healing pathways, improve their stress resilience, and enhance their overall well-being.”
