Transforming the insurance market in Mexico with GNP

In January, Aetna representatives rubbed shoulders with key brokers from the length and breadth of Mexico, footballing legend Rafa Marquez and the executives of Grupo Nacional Provincial (GNP) at the 10th annual GNP partner event. Set against the backdrop of Merida, the capital of the Yucatan Peninsula, the event provided an opportunity for the insurance community to discuss GNP’s vision for the future of the Mexico market.

Aetna International formed a partnership with GNP, one of Mexico’s oldest and most respected insurance firms, in 2014. GNP’s CEO, Mario Vela, opened the three-day conference. In his address, Vela brought the digital transformation taking place in Mexico into sharp focus and highlighted GNP’s agenda to tackle the challenges to come.

The event brought together the Mexican insurance giant’s key production partners who attended training and development workshops to strengthen their knowledge and skills, celebrated recent achievements, and discussed their vision for the future. The 2019 event was attended by more than 2000 brokers — a record number — all of whom were interesting in learning more about GNP’s aggressive growth strategy for the region, including the launch of a new product for individuals and families later this year. During the event, we were invited to showcase our global expertise and commitment to helping people on the path to better health.
