BREXIT: what it may mean for your Aetna policy

As we plan for the UK’s exit from the European Union (EU), we want to keep you up-to-date on the most current information and how it may impact your Aetna policy. To that end, here’s what we currently know.

In Europe, your Aetna policy is underwritten by Aetna Insurance Company Limited (AICL), a UK based insurer. If the UK splits from the EU, it may be that AICL can no longer insure members who are normally resident in a European Economic Area (EEA) member country. If you have employees that are Aetna members and are resident in the EEA, we may arrange to move their coverage upon renewal onto Aetna Health Insurance Company of Europe DAC (AHICE), an insurer authorised and regulated in the Republic of Ireland. Be assured that there will be no changes to your plan benefits, terms or conditions.

Brexit will have no impact on Aetna members residing in the UK.

We’ll continue to monitor Brexit developments and provide you with the transparency and exceptional customer service you’ve come to expect.

We want to assure you that our goal is to make any transition, should that be necessary, as smooth as possible for everyone involved.
