Enhanced global service delivery model

Aetna International embarks on enhanced global service delivery model

Aetna International is working to make international health care benefits more affordable for employers, and more accessible and less complicated for their employees. The company announced today that they continue to be well-positioned to support businesses that have international health care benefits needs for their globally mobile employees. In the United States, this is due to their full operational integration with Aetna®, a CVS Health® company. Outside of the United States, a new partnership with Allianz Partners contributes to their enhanced global service delivery model and strengthens their network capabilities.

With this integration, evolved business model and new partnership, Aetna International is able to grow and strengthen their network operations and provider management in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia Pacific (APAC), while still maintaining full ownership of their customer and member experiences.

Aetna International Vice President, Todd Lazar, explains, “This enhanced global service delivery model uniquely positions Aetna International for scale and sustainable long-term growth while simultaneously allowing us to continue to offer unrivaled access to health care around the world.”

Adding one of the world’s strongest network partners to their team roster is just one example of the many ways Aetna International has transformed their business. Through their deeper integration with Aetna and CVS Health comes an amplified ability to offer innovative plans and product components, such as:

  • 100% coverage for care outside of the U.S., with no deductible, no copay, and no coinsurance on covered services
  • No or low-cost care at MinuteClinic® found in 1,200 CVS Pharmacy® stores across the United States (U.S.)
  • CVS Health Virtual Care™ and CVS Health Virtual Primary Care™ for broader telehealth access to on-demand and routine care

In addition to these unique offerings, Aetna International will continue to support their members with exceptional:

  • 24/7 member services
  • International care management from a team with in-depth local market knowledge and fluency in seven languages
  • Global coverage in 200+ countries and territories across the globe with direct pay access to 1.9M providers and facilities

This integration is making the experience for their clients simpler, too. Lazar added, “Being able to work with Aetna for both domestic and international medical benefits is already creating a better and more streamlined experience for our customers, and that’s something we’re always striving for.”

Aetna International will kick off their enhanced global service delivery model with new and renewing customers with April 1 plan effective dates who have employees accessing care in Europe, EMEA and APAC.

100% coverage applies to covered benefits only and includes no deductible, no copay and no coinsurance for care received outside of the U.S. and U.S. Territories; not applicable to Aetna International WorldTraveler plans or plans originating in Cayman.
